Broadcom USH DELL driver on Latitude E6400

Unknown device CLSID: USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&REV_0101&MI_00

Problem:

I am trying to resolve a driver issue. I have an E6400 and after installing Windows 7 Professional 64bit, patches, drivers and the like, I am left with one hardware device not found. It is listed within the Device Manager as “Broadcom USH” and after some investigation it appears to be the Broadcom USH CV for a fingerprint reader. Device CLSID is USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&REV_0101&MI_00.

Solution:

Under  Control Point select Dell Device (Dell Security Device Driver Installation Package) and download device driver file:

Hard-Drive – Dell_ControlPoint-Security-D_A15_R254254.exe
